A Whirlwind of a Recap

Here is a QUICK summary of what we have been up to as of late:

Tuesday:  I FINALLY got my name officially changed at the Social Security Office :) and we headed to St. George for Thanksgiving

Wednesday: Went shopping with my mom to get Aaron some new clothes for Christmas, family came in town, played games and watched Elf

Thursday: Had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the Hansen family. Ate way too much, had to ration my roll in take and relaxed the rest of the day. Watched the Macy's Day Parade, played some football and just ate more food.
Friday: Headed to Vegas for the day to be with some of Aaron's extended family. We talked, ate, shot guns, built a BBQ out of a metal can, went and saw the lighting of a Christmas Tree, saw Santa and sang Christmas songs together
Saturday: Went to the temple with the family (amazing), went to Slot Canyon and climbed around, ate out, went to a Rest Home and sang Christmas Carols, exchanged $1 store gifts for each other
Sunday: Headed back to Springville :(

Monday: Decorated our house for Christmas while listening to Christmas music, SO FUN! I think I might keep them up year around!
(Thanks for the decorations Mom and Dad!)
There you go, short and sweet! Happy Holidays! :)

Giving Thanks #1:

#1: Eternal Marriage

I am so grateful that on August 19, 2011 I was sealed to Aaron Butler for all eternity. The best day of my life. So glad we get to spend forever together and never be apart, because being apart at while I am school is long enough for me! Love You!

Giving Thanks #2:

#2. A Husband who works hard to provide for us

Aaron has been working hard, full time, this whole semester and to provide for us. We have been able to pay our rent, buy groceries, pay for gas and I have been able to go to school. So thankful for a man who knows how to work hard and save money. Love Him!

#3: A Husband Who Listens

Aaron is a WONDERFUL listener! I can talk his ear off all day and everyday! By the end of dinner Aaron's food is all gone and I haven't even started to eat mine because of all the talking I have done. He knows all of my friends, their problems, the kids in my class I teach, the steps of all the lessons I teach and basically every thought on my mind. Thanks Aaron for listening!

Can't Wait!!!!

Thanksgiving...let the countdown begin...ahhhh, I can't wait anymore (as I write one final paper)...we are leaving in 21 hours for St. George! It is going to be SO fun! In the mean time, while I procrastinate writing this paper, here are some pictures from this weekend :)

We attended a fun surprise birthday for our cousin Lauren! Woo Hoo! 23! It was a lot of fun to celebrate with her and catch up with her and Matt!
We walked outside and this is what was going on! Boo! Not fun! It was quite an experience driving home!
Hannah and Will were sweet enough to give us their football tickets for Saturday night so we bundled up for the 30 degree weather and went. It was so fun! It was my first game of the season and Aaron's first game ever! We loved it!
We sat with Carlie, Rachel and Daniel! It was so fun!
We snuck in some "Tootsie Pops". Shhhhh! Don't tell anyone!
We had to walk around a little bit so our legs didn't freeze in one posistion, and we came upon this! Pretty fun and applicable for the most recently acceptee and the close graduate!
We love BYU! :)

#4: Forehead Kisses

Aaron is very sweet and romantic at heart. He always dances with me in the kitchen or pulls me in close and kisses me on the forehead. I love and live for little moments like that.

Giving Thanks #5:

#5: A husband who thinks more of others than himself

Aaron and I were discussing our financial situation for this Christmas and next semester and while realizing we don't have very much Aaron's first thought was to donate one of the gift cards from our wedding to our ward who is collecting them for those who need them at this Christmas season. He is always thinking of others and how grateful I am for him and his constant example to me.

Giving Thanks #6

#6: A husband who wakes up earlier than necessary to defrost my car

This past month Aaron has gotten up every morning with me at 6am to defrost my car before I leave for school. He doesn't have to get up that early but he does out of pure love and how grateful I am for that sweet act of kindness especially on days when I am running late.

P.S. It is our 3 month anniversary today! Still as in love as the day we got married! I am so in love with love! :)

Giving Thanks #7

#7: A manly husband who comes to my rescue

Yesterday I got a flat tire driving home to Springville. I called Aaron to come help me but he was an hour away at work and 30 minutes up a mountain on a horse. He came as quickly as he could though and rescued me and fixed my car. So thankful for him!

Thanksgiving Thankfulness Countdown:

#8: Unconditional love and patience of a wonderful husband.

There are days when I am just plain grumpy (aka. yesterday) and Aaron works through it with me and loves me the same by the end of the day. There are days now and will continue "to be days" and how grateful I am for a husband who understands, loves and serves me no matter what.

Randomosity

When trying to figure out what to blog about I went to my phone and found some random pictures from this past week and so I will explain each to you and that will have to do for now seeing as Aaron and I are both busy: I am currently teaching (kind of) and Aaron at the moment is driving back from Idaho will a truck load of potatoes. Haha.
We are THAT poor that we pack our own water bottles to the movie theater
A little treasure we found at the DI while looking for a desk
"Sketchy Springville"
Aaron and I noticed these signs down the street from us when we were driving home one day:
Weather Stripping
Hot and Ready Hawaiians
Keys got stuck in our carpool car going home from West Jordan...how El Ed majors get them out, a door stop.
Lastly, LIGHT came into town this weekend (the group that introduced Aaron and I). We had a great time catching up with friends and singing with them in the fireside.

A Weekend of Big Purchases:

We splurged for our date this weekend...we went to the $3 theater and saw Harry Potter 7 Part 2
We used a gift card from our wedding to buy ice cream from Cold Stone
We SPLIT a burrito from Cafe Rio! YUM!
Saturday was filled with (still) returning wedding items and buying some more things that we needed (a big purchase will be revealed at a later date) and then the night was spent with me writing lesson plans and Aaron playing a Harry Potter Wand Spell Casting Game on his iTouch. Here he is, casting spells...also, enjoy the video below :)

It's Friday:

Fact: Aaron and I get "hooked" on certain foods and then eat them non stop until they are gone!
We have experienced this quite a few times since we have been married. The two I remember most is first gingerbread pieces...after we spent the weekend at the cabin with the girls making gingerbread houses we got hooked on eating gingerbread. We took a bag home, stole my mom's bag of extras and below is the Story's bag too! I swear we ate them all in a matter of days! YUM!
Most recently we were obsessed with Tootsie Rolls. We didn't have many Trick-or-Treaters and so we had lots of Tootsie Rolls left over. We had them sitting out and ate them day in and day out, below might or might not be one of our pockets emptied out before we did the wash...
Now, all we need to do is become hooked on carrots, or celery or broccoli...I will let you know if that happens anytime soon ;) Happy Friday!

We Celebrate With Pancakes...

HAPPY 11/11/11 from the Butlers! Don't forget to make an epic wish today at 11:11! P.S. Happy Friday!
